[Update: thanks to Linda Kuehl, formerly of Chateau Ste. Michelle, who corrected me on this. The Wine Spectator review of 88 pts. is actually for the Riesling from Cold Creek Vineyard, which I have yet to try. The one I reviewed (at 88 pts.) is a Riesling from Columbia Valley, which I definitely recommend below, and heartily suggest you buy and enjoy. My apologies for the confusion and thanks again Linda! A while back I reviewed the Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling. I scored it 86 points, and enjoy it every week, especially with Loni’s famously spicy curry. Yesterday Wine Spectator released their tasting note on the same wine, and scored it 88 points. Impressive for a $14 wine that can be had at Trader Joe’s for only $5.99.
My suggestion: grab this wine while you can.
It’s one of the quickest to go at Trader Joe’s. But always double check with staff if the shelf is empty. On occasion they will have extra cases in the back. If you enjoy a refreshing and slightly sweet wine, you’ll like this one!
