This is an entry for any of you who watch a video or film and wonder to yourself “how did they do that?”. When I saw Benjamin Button I marveled at the digital techniques that they developed to show Benjamin at his different ages…. but I had no idea how they did it or even what part of the image was digitally enhanced.
I came across a talk by one of the creators of that magic from the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) Conference. Link to TED Conference homepage This conference “now brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).” Actually all of their talks are fascinating but, as someone who works in a related field on a much lower tech level, I found this one amazing and thrilling:
