Planter-Box-No-Legs

I enjoy all the photos readers have sent in with the results of their vegetable planter box building endeavor. Some have made modifications to my original planter box plans to adapt to a particular use or preference.

Here is another variation sent in by Paul B.

Paul B. writes: I modified the plans so it was a full 8 ft long and changed the legs to rest more closely to the ground. As for the interior – I used decking boards instead of fencing – I felt they would support the weight of the dirt better. I used pine instead of redwood as redwood is not easily available in Oklahoma. However, I did stain it a redwood color.

My wife has since filled it with lemon cucumber seeds.

The vegetable planter box looks fantastic and I do hope it produces a plentiful harvest of cucumbers for those nice refreshing salads in the hot summer season.

Thanks Paul for sending in your photo.
