An epic beach party.
There’s no other way to describe the scene last night at the Monterey Beach House.
It was all about the sun, swine and wine. Pebble Beach Food and Wine hosted “Meatopia” – an event not soon confused with Veggietopia. A primal affair? Most definitely. But also bespoke, with stunning views of the Pacific, and striking ambiance as the sun slowly set.
Hosted by Josh Ozersky (Esquire) 10 chefs plated on this evening. Each had their own special take on a meat dish. Some, like Chef John Fink (The Whole Beast) went whole hog – served with a tasty Tostones & Mojo Coleslaw. Others were whimsical. Take Chef Kevin Gillespie (Gunshow) and his slow roasted pork belly, topped with pickled apples and smoked peanut butter.
Here’s a quick look at the evening that was at Pebble Beach Food & Wine.

Pebble Beach Food & Wine continues through the weekend. Winemaker panels. Food demos and classes. And at the heart of each day a glorious “Grand Tasting”. Fans of the Food Network should look out for Iron Chef Morimoto who makes an appearance Sunday morning with his Ramen 101 presentation.
Team Stark hopes to see you there!
