Acrobats. Horses. Aerialists. State-of-the-art video screens. And a three-story mountain with… a real lake.

Odysseo.

That’s the name of the new, $30 million mega-show made by the creators of the fantastical show Cavalia we saw here a few years back. It’s scheduled to come to San Francisco in November and run for a few weeks. Tip: grab tickets while you can.

We’re told the new show is double the size of Cavallia. The story sounds whimsical and global, and will take the audience “on a soulful journey to some of nature’s greatest wonders, from the Mongolian steppes to Monument Valley, from the African savannah to Nordic glaciers, from the Sahara to Easter Island, and even to a lunar landscape, illuminated by shooting stars and brilliant nebulas.”

Basically, expect a grandiose, enthralling experience:

All told the production features 70 horses, 45 riders, in addition to acrobats, dancers, and musicians. The white big top — coming to AT&T Park — is no less than 68,000 square feet in size (equivalent to an NFL playing field).

The show, created by Cirque du Soleil co-founder Normand Latourelle (seen in video interview below), has been touring across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. But this — thankfully — marks the first time Odysseo will make a stop in San Francisco.
