Just when you thought the annual “Toast of the Town” gala couldn’t get any grander, along comes City Hall. The stunning location will make its debut as host (previous years were hosted at the War Memorial Opera House) on April 7th. Not exactly a stranger to food and wine events, San Francisco will once again showcase to the world its gourmet dancing shoes, and fine evening wear.
Attendees will be able to sample gourmet dishes from 30 top local restaurants including Cindy Pawlcyn Napa Valley, étoile Restaurant, Limón, The Ahwahnee, The Girl & The Fig, The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards and Waterbar among others. We’re told this year will have more restaurants than ever presented in the history of the event series.
In addition, over 500 wines will be poured from wineries such as Bennett Lane Winery, Clos Pegase, DeLoach Vineyards, Etude, Hess Collection, Raymond Vineyards, Rubicon Estate, and Sterling Vineyards.
We’ve included a few photos here from the previous year’s festivities.
Also, here is some on location video coverage, including appearances by Wine Enthusiast magazine co-founders Adam and Sybil Strum. Follow Loni Kao Stark as she makes her way through the War Memorial tasting and sipping some of the City’s finest.
Insider Tip: Relative to other food and wine events, Toast of the Town is slightly more formal… so this would be a good time to wear that slinky evening dress, or ultra-hip SF appeal get-up.
Tickets are $109 for the Grand Tasting and $169 for the VIP Tasting. Visit the Toast of the Town web site for more information and to purchase tickets.
